Tiring Day
I had a very tiring day. All throughout the day, we had so many calls that I did not have enough time to breath. After saying, "Thank you for calling!," I repeat the same greeting to the next customer. But hey, I can't complain about that, it's part of the job. Ü
After shift, when I was talking with my supervisor, I learned that she has broken up with her boyfriend about 3 weeks ago. I suspected as much but then she kept on a good composed image and I was too busy to notice it. I'm in a way sorry but I think it would not help her if she gets reminded of the break-up. I remember the phrase about the duck/swan (whatever you want, it's still the same avian species) that goes a little something like this:
"Look at that graceful swan/duck, gracefully skimming the water's surface. It keeps its feathers in place but underneath, it thrashes its feet to keep afloat."
Indeed, composure can make or break you. . .
As for my bestfriend, he is depressed because he says he is fat. Ok, let's face it, he is not thin either but he cannot consider him obese though. I wish he could read this post because I would like to tell you something about what I heard from a lady talking on the Oprah show many years ago. She said something to the effect of the seal being so content as to what it has. On land, no one would vote it as the most graceful animal. Notice how it bobs its head up and down and lumber around on the bay? It looks so clumsy and comical. But you see, it is comfortable that way because it knows that he cannot please everybody when it is out of its element. On land he may be a lumbering clown but in the water, look at it dive! How it gracefully chases fish and other prey. Do not discount the fact too that in ocean parks, it is applauded for jumping out of the water in the most magnificent way.
So as it turns out, this entry is a toast to all those ducks/swans and seals out there. Let's learn a lesson from them. ♥
